Why has the word LISP got an S in it?

Answers:
The correct word is lithp, but they decideded to put an 'S' in it so that those with a lithp didn't feel as though those without a lithp were making fun of them.
i have always thought that was cruel.
Cheap giggles
As it would be the word lip without it..duh!
and why is dyslexia so hard to spell?
Because that's how it's spelled..
cause it is when a persons LIP has no S
Irony is funny.

Why is the word phonetic not spelled like it sounds?
Probably the same reason why Dyslexia is spelt so.
Because it was made up by a mossochist
cause if it had no 'S' in it, it would be spelt wrong!!! HAHAHAHA
I always thought they had a problem getting their tongue round their R's
to make it funny for someone to say "i have a lisp"
The word LISP has an S in it because if there wasn't, it would sound exactly like LIP.
