If a tree falls in a deserted forest does it make a noise?
Answers:
Yes, unless of course the tree thinks "if nobody is going to hear me then I will fall quietly so as not to disturb the wildlife".
No one wil hear it.
If a man says something stupid and there is no woman around to hear him.is his comment still stupid?
Yes. Just no one hears it. but I don't know how it couldn't make a noise.
Probably yes. Just because nobody is there to hear it doesn't mean it doesn't make a noise just the same as it fell regardless of there being nobody there to see it.
yes..
same noise as it makes..if you would hear it.
Sorry, can you repeat the question? I couldn't hear you, due to a tree crashing down in the distant forest!
Did a bear sh%t there, too?
This is an allegedly philosophical question which I have always regarded as stupid. The answer to it depends completely on the way you define "noise". If for you noise are the vibrations transmited through the air in the form of waves which we call "sound", then you can affirm that a tree makes noise, for the vibrations are there, whether there is someone to detect them or not.
Actually, the answer is NO, it doesn't make a noise. Noise is just a vibration that our hearing picks up and interperates as sounds, so therefore if a tree falls and there is no one to hear the vibration, there is no noise.
Why are you gits all being so kind to BB ?
When I asked this question a few weeks ago, I got a lot of abuse!
I went to the pub 5 hours ago, I've seen a fabulous band called the solicitors, and drank more than enough brandy. I've even eaten a bowl of noodles. My point is this, the last question I answered befroe I went out was this one!!!
Will you please stop asking the same ridiculous stupid f*****g questions!!!!!!!!
Depends what it falls on.
it s probably the sudden stop at the end of the fall that makes the noise
no because the sound waves will keep bumping on the trees and probal will not reach anybody outside of the forest
Why not research the answers of the hundreds of people who have asked this question here before? The answer is not unless the vibrations are heard by a tympani membrane and interpreted by a brain as a sound.
mmmm . A tree stands alone in a deserted Forrest? I guess we have to determine if there is a tree there in the first place. If the tree is there and it does fall it will make a noise even if no one is there to hear it.
who cares not like someone is going to walk underneath it and some one else shout timber..is it?
Of course! Are you as bored as me as to ask questions like this?
Age old question, why wouldn't it make a noise? Falling down usually involves some kind of sound whether there is someone there to hear it or not.
what size is the tree? well if it was a big one yes just nobody will hear it.
No due to the fact that no one is around to hear it and that this is a lame old joke.
No one is listening until you make a mistake.
yes if a tree falls it will always make noise but that doesnt mean someone will hear it. just like if a tree falls in the middle of the forest and no one hears it.it still makes noise.
yes it does.
The answer to that question is obvious. Let's look at that concept in respect to another example: If people believe in God but never see him throughout their entire lives, does he still exist?
