Whats europes current environmental focus?

The problem is all governments are playing lip service to Climate Change but the progress is to slow. We all have a part to play even if it is just taking bottles to the bottle bank every little helps, its time to act before time runs out.
Most people mock the Green Party or Friends of the Earth but the so called hippies have been trying to get this message across for years so they are not so daft and politians are just coming around to think there is a problem (and now are using it for their own political gains,still as I said earlier "every little helps")
I think climate change is the hot topic of this century.
I have read the others answers on this and don't think they come from Europe. European here. The biggest issues here is Illegal Waste Shipment in terms of enviornmental focus. Have a look at this site europa.eu
