exchanging of driving licenses
Answers:
I agree with what the others have said - the DVLA and the post office are the places to go. However when I changed my paper licence to a photo card AND ALSO changed my name on it, I didnt have to pay anything.it was a bit unclear on their leaflet so I called them to check and it was free! I reckon you should do the same!

go to the post office and pick up a form for changing your licence it is about £19 and you will need a photo iv you look on the net at www,dvla.gov.uk this should help
go to www.dvla.gov.uk and they will answer you will need to apply for a full photocard licence so you will need a photo of yourself like passport i think cost is 38 pound maybe more
If you want to change your paper driving licence for a photocard driving licence you must complete the application form D1 that is available from the DVLA form ordering service and Post Office® branches. You will need to enclose original documentation confirming your identity, a passport style colour photograph and the fee of £19.00. Send your completed application and payment to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1BU or you may be able to use the premium checking service.
