Is there anybody else that finds when they have fish and chips?

no matter how much vinegar you pour on them you can never taste it!?!?!

wot kind of vinegar do they use?

Answers:
Its because the chips soak it up and mixed with all that fat and oil you have no chance of tasting it. Oven chips are better for that but lets face facts.you can't beat the chip shop!
Onion vinegar i think works best only on chip shop chips.
Probably utterly watered down, if I use my own it blows my head off because I think I need gallons of the stuff!
They use white vinegar.
Yes I have noticed that too!.
Rubbish vinegar I think!
well i hate vinegar on my fish and chips. so.
A proper vinegar for Fish and Chips is Malt vinegar.
apple is used most

I like wine vinager
Yes I agree, I always have to add more when I get home. The vinegar is probably watered down so it goes further.
Traditionally malt vinegar. If you must eat fish 'n chips, it stops the lard coagulating on the roof of your mouth, and staying with you for hours.
My Nana Used to Use Beetroot Vinegar, Which was surprisingly nice.
If there from the chip shop it's probably watered down. Ask them not to put any on if your taking them home and put it on yourself. A good malt vinegar is best. I find if they put it on in the chip shop it soaks into the paper and makes the chips soggy too.
Malt Vinegar.
Doesn't matter to me. I eat tartar sauce on my fish.
I dunno cos I only have vinegar now and again.
