Couldn't agree more. I've had a too many disappointing wines from supermarkets to really bother with them any more. The only wine of any interest that I've come across in my local supermarket has been de-listed. The wines that I've bought have generally been worth half the price paid, and then when I've been in next time it has been on deal at half price anyway. B**stards!
The whole BOGOF thing isn't just a wine thing, when was the last time you saw a Goodfella's pizza at full price?
And another thing .
I think
Oh well.
More sharp practices to watch out for!

Cheers for the info!
Cheap wine is usually not very nice.

And a good way to get a hangover.
Makes sense, however that has been a marketing scheme since well, forever. It stands to reason that a well educated consumer wins here and a less educated consumer, who wouldn't care about the quality as much anyway, doesnt know they are losing. So who is losing?
if it's cheap it's cheap for a reason, if it's bogof its bogof cos they've got double the bottles they can actually sell
