In packets of crisps why do you always get one small overcooked crisp?

Quotas have to be met. You also notice you get one gigantic one as well

That does my head in especially if you end up eating it by mistake Urgh!
It's a failure of the quality sorting machinery and you should complain.
Maybe a few get stuck in the fryer, then get re-fried (and maybe re-fried again). Eventually, the cremated ones get dislodged and join the mass population of properly cooked crisps.
I consider that the prize in the box of Cracker Jacks. The small overcooked ones are my fav!!
Every time I get just one small overcooked crisp, whether it is in Walkers, Smiths, Golden Wonder, McCoys or Marks & Spencers.
