I'm feeling traditional tonight..here's an old question.
Dinner table. 3 guests plus you. Alive or dead (no puns about my cooking) - who are they?. And what do you cook them?

I love these types of questions - i like musing over what it would be like..but if i had to choose 3 people and only 3, i would choose:
Marilyn Monroe : A beautiful soul, A beautiful woman, Many stories to tell and overall an interesting yet misunderstood lady. I've read biographies documentating her life, her work and she was such a strong independant lady who stuck to what she believed in. She had a beautiful figure and didn't change her body for her critics or the media - she was healthy and the epitome of what a woman should be and feel. I feel sadness that such a truly beautiful woman, inside and out, came to such a lonely and tragic end. Her legacy lives on through her films and she will always be remembered as the true and original Hollywood Goddess.
Dermot Morgan : The actor that played Father Ted Crilly in the TV Comic series, 'Father Ted'. Unfortunately and sadly he passed away too much before his time and i would have loved the oppurtunity to tell him how much i loved his precise, comic timing and the brilliant show in which he starred in. He would be a humourous guest to have over for a bit of grub.
Joan of Arc: One of the first stories i have ever read that has truly inspired me as a woman in a sometimes male dominated world. It is a true, non - fictional story and thats what makes it so amazing - the impact that one person, be they man or woman, can have on society and the community to help change their lives for the better. It is a sad and tragic ending which often leaves me feeling somewhat dissapointed in the way in which the people for whom she wanted to protect, turned against her. I would have loved to ask her how she found her life and if she had any regrets. A truly inspirational character.
And what would i cook them?
Well considering the height of my cooking talent doesn't quite go beyond the microwave, i think i'd order :)

Food-wise. Slow roast lamb and all the trimmings.
Good red wine (of course)!
Homemade chocolate torte and pink champagne for dessert.
Strong coffee and cheese board/fruit for afters.
Fine cognac.
If only.
Lincoln: to show him how far we've come and that he is remembered as a great leader.
Einstein: cause the whole space/time continuum and super string theory fascinates me yet perplexes me.
Hitler: To ask him what the hell he was thinking and how does hell feel and I'd make him sit in the corner and eat nothing and have some thugs come and beat the crap out of him just to let him know how despised he is.
The other two I'd feed probably something simple because spicy food would probably not do them any good. So ham and a good juicy roast beef and taters and gravy with some good biscuits, which I'm sure Abe would appreciate. Lots of veggies and some decadent cheesecake for dessert.
Got to be Brad Pitt alone..I called the others to say I had salmonella poisoning and would have to reschedule.then Brad and I eat the food of love!
