Should the alcohol licence for shops and supermarkets be 24 hours - your not drinking on the premises?

they cant stop you drinking in the street thats the job of the police, but buying alcohol doesnt mean your going to

Answers:
You mean you can't buy alcohol until after a said time of day? That's odd. But then again..I can't buy it on Sundays. LOL Yes I agree they should change the laws. That's retarded. What is it any business of theirs when we decided to get drunk and when we are sober. I thought that is what being an adult was about ..making your own decisions. Be them good or bad as long as they aren't affecting others in a negative way.

And if the "local yobs" are drunk at 7 am when you go to get your paper..ignore them. They aren't your concern.

Come on, be realistic! Why would someone buy alcohol if they're not going to drink it!It's like candy when as soon as you come out of the store you just want to devour it whole.not all people have self control
yes i cant see why not after all you can drink 24 /7 in a pub or club now
I agree, what difference does it make if I buy it at 1:59am and drink it or 2:01am and drink it. None! Just do good'ers who think they have to save us all from ourselves Cause we're to freakin stupid to think for ourselves.
Sure u should, we can in uk, an its goin down really well right now, CHEERS!
It should. This is one of these silly unnecessary laws, annoying if you just want to take a can of beer home with you after closing time. A friendly shop might turn a blind eye to you shoplifting it if you pay the shopkeeper compensation. It's worked for me.
Shops can apply for a 24 hour license, but yours hasnt.

Also, allowing drink to be sold 24 hours in some locations can cause unruly behaviour.

You would be quick to moan that the local yobs are drunk at 7am when you buy your morning paper!
yeah why not.its like that where i live except on sunday
i totally agree with u how much easier would it b if u could buy the drink when u want people who r gonna drink at seven in the morning are gonna get the drink from some where any way
cos they can!!
I think not.

I know what you mean about getting the shopping done in the morning when it is quiet in the supermarket. You might want to buy something but not actually drink it until the evening or weekend.

Even so I think there is pretty clear evidence which basically shows that the more difficult it is to get hold of alcohol (through high prices or just simply through restricting availability) then the less alcohol abuse there is.
