cut the legs off a fast gin!!
SLOE GIN
1 lb. (450 g) sloes
3 cups (710 ml) gin or vodka
1 1/2 cup (350 g) sugar
Wash and dry the fruit, remove all stems, and freeze the sloes for at least a couple of days (not necessary if they are picked after the first frost). Place the fruit in a suitable container, add gin or vodka, and shake twice a week for 4-8 weeks. Transfer most of the liquid to a bottle. Add the sugar to the remaining sloes. Shake twice a day until all sugar has dissolved; this may take up to two weeks. Mix this sweet syrup with the first unsweetened liquid. After three months strain the liqueur thru a muslin cloth. Add some more sugar if necessary. The liqueur should mellow for 6 months before used.
As an alternative you can mix the sloes, gin/vodka and sugar at the same time, but then use slightly less sugar. If preparing the sloe gin/liqueur this way you will also get a delicious flavor, however, the total volume of liqueur will be less because more liquid will remain within the fruit.
Sloes are the fruit of blackthorn and are actually a wild type of plums. The flavor of the fruit is bitter, so the small plums are not suitable for eating. However, the effect of frost makes them milder. The bitter flavor is lost when making liqueurs.
Sloe gin is traditionally made in Ireland and Britain. Sloe liqueur is also made in Scandinavia, Germany, France and Spain. This delicious liqueur has a flavor similar to plum liqueur and the color is dark red. It is best served in small amounts as an after-dinner drink with or without ice.
To every pint of gin add 4 - 6 oz caster sugar and a teaspoon almond essence.
Wash the sloes and soak in 1 campden tablet in a gallon of water for 24 hourse.
Rinse well under running water and prick with a fork.
Put into a kilner (mason) jar and cover with the gin.
Leave til dark in colour, at least 6 months.
4 oz sugar is dry, 6 oz medium.
Toffee flavoured vodka could be made from a dessert topping intended for ice cream added to the vodka, what colour is it? You just need a commercial caramel flavour and vodka.

You can just buy a bottle of sloe gin.
far too early for making sloe gin. You will need to wait till September/October till the sloes are at their best.
Sloe gin is easy, you need about 4 lbs of ripe (black) sloes, a couple of bottles of cheap gin, cheaper the better, and about 4lb of sugar. Wash the sloes, prick them and place in a glass demijohn with the sugar and gin, mix daily till the sugar dissolves, and then every 3 days. After 3 months, strain off the gin and bottle. Its great, but just watch out, it's much, much stronger than the sloe gin you get in bottles from the shop as it's almost the same strength as gin.
use blackthorn plums
Give it some Rum and it slows down sloe so sloe.
The sloes definitely need to be pricked before going into the gin. Equal weight of sugar to fruit and I use one 70cl bottle of Tesco own-brand gin to combined 350g of fruit and sugar. Don't know about 3 months. I have drinkable sloe gin by Christmas if bottled by 13th November.
I have tried making sloe rum using same quantity of fruit and brown sugar and dark rum. It's interesting.
To get the best taste the Sloe's should be pricked with a silver fork.
there is a drink called Dooley's that is vodka toffee you could try that
Just buy a bottle of Gordons Sloe Gin and a bottle of Dooleys!
