i would go to the tourist bureau and check for bed and breakfast..and if your lucky and are there for a few days you might be able to get a good french (homecooked) meal with the price.enjoy
The best place to stay overnight is as far away from Lille (and France) as you can possibly get.
Ibis hotels are similar to our holiday inns or travel lodges :)
