Why do bubbles form in a glass of water, when its left by my bedside overnight?
Answers:
When water comes from your water company, they have to put chlorine and other things in it to keep bacteria and mold to a minimum while traveling to your house.
When it sits out for 6 hours or so the chlorine gas comes out of solution. There could be other stuff, but that's usually what it is. I read that years ago and always leave out water for 6 hrs before drinking it.
The chlorine won't kill you, but I like to minimize my consumption.
air.
Wow, never thought of that! Maybe the monster under your bed to a swig outta it.
water it oxodised and when you run the tap wee bits of air get trapped in the water and if left the will start to free itself from the liquid
either because you don't rinse the soap off before you use it or you have a weird bedrock to your watertable in your area
A mosquito laid some eggs in it!
The water gradually settles, and can't support so much dissolved oxygen. This comes out of solution and forms bubbles on the sides of the glass.
As the water warms up to room temperature the, ever present, minute air bubbles expand.
the sandman farted in it
could be air.
The boogeyman put bubbles in it!!LOL

the formula for water is h2o. meaning it has oxygen, and hydrogen. the molecules will start to separate causing bigger [the bubbles]bubbles in the liquid.
