Ive just made a stew for dinner tonight Ive put it in a slow cooker on low will it be ok till 5pm?

For beef stew in a slow cooker set on low, it should take about 8 hours.
I've found that if it cooks too long, more than 10 hours, the meat's texture will change and become kind of dry and gritty when you chew it. This also occurs with pork and chicken.
It will be lovely - just make sure the lid is on properly.

Depends on what time is it where you are, now. If you're leaving meat and veggies in there for longer than 4 hours, you might come home to a great big batch of goop.

I can't tell from here ..if you invite me for dinner ..i will give you first hand opinion ..i cook stew most days in winter ..i am sure it will be yummy when cooked ..just remember to stir the bottom of the pot to stop burning say every 30min intervals..enjoy bonappetite
Your stew meat should be just fine , although your vegetables might get a little over mooshy if left in for too long.

YES. I hoped you used Reynold's slow cook liners so that you don't have to scrub the pot. I just bought some more of them this morning for a pot roast that I will make tomorrow. I wouldn't use the slow cooker without them. (They are about $2.00 for a box of four).
