Is there any point in teaching my
three year old how to make a
decent cup of tea?

Answers:
No, (s)he will just end up spilling half of it all over the carpet when they're carrying it across the kitchen and you'll end up either having to train them to clean the carpet, or clean it yourself.

Or (s)he will carry it with his/her thumb in it and you don't want a three year old's thumb in your tea, you've no idea where it has been

And s(he)'ll lick your biscuits before handing them to you.

All in all it's too much hassle, get yourself a monkey butler instead they're far more reliable.
Your late with the lessons!!
No. Unless you fancy having a three year old with scalding burns on their hands.
Nope because that would involve playing with scoulding hot water, Now wouldn't it!!

Wait till their a bit older ;-)
Of course thre is. Teach em young and when they are older they will make the best tea.
Yes,if your children can't make you a cup of tea then why have them at all?
of course, that training & experience will be an asset throught life.
No they don’t quite get the hang of it until at least five years old. lol
Under supervision of course.
3 year olds drive cars - play chess - write poetry - play the piano and .
explain it to them, but don't let them try it , as you know boiling water makes horrible burns.
why not. but make sure he doesn't scald himself..
Please tell me you're joking?!?!?!
grow up and wake up this is how my little sister had to have skin graphs at the age of 2 kids and hot drinks dont mix think about it?
my sister got 3rd degree burns for making my mum a cup of tea when she was 5, she spent 3 months in hospital, so i would say no, not until she is at least 12
No, he/she is too young.
yes there is but only if u are there with him as he can badly burn himself and u won twan tthat in a few years you will have the great teas or coffees ever
Yes, but only if they have mastered the "fetch and carry" stage. eg"go get daddy a beer"
No, they want your love and to play. Now helping make cookies or something that they would enjoy eating afterward is fun for them. But don't let the child near the oven.
by all means let the child watch and learn but dont let the poor mite try it or they will have severe burns and will proberbly hate you for it the future.
stop wasting time. get off your *** and do it yourself before he gets hurt.
3 year olds can microwave a decent cup of tea -- a stove top cup of tea might be a bit much
dont be stupid!!
That's far to early it would be very irresponsible of you to let a three year old near boiling water
What, a three year old and boiling water. Are you mad.
All people should taught how to cook and be creative in the kitchen at as earlier an age as possible to make them understand about good healthly nutrition and also essential cooking skills that will ensure that they don't eat rubbish pre-packed food later on in life.

I don't necessarily think that leaving your kid to do it on their own would be such a good idea but I'm sure most parents are careful enough to make sure that their children are adequatly supervised so that no injuries are caused.
PATHETIC
reported !
well i would but i'd watch them with the boiling water and so on.
It is never too soon to start learning. A fine idea, Grinner. Well done!
why cant they do it already? next step is doing the ironing then the windows then clean out the car and maybe before nap nap time they clean out the bloody oven kids of today hove got it so easy ( you are just kidding righr?)
I think he is far too young.
