My kids have just asked me to make a sandwich for them..their 13 and 15 and they have had an evening meal?

What should i say to them??

Answers:
At there age cant they make it themselves ? there at a age where makeing a simple sandwich should be easy, if they want a sarnie tell them to make it emselves
They are old enough to make a sandwich themselves! :)
feed the kids woman
Kiss where the sun dont shine..
I never ever refused my children something to eat if they asked for it. They will only ask if they are hungry, give them one and they'll think you are great.
You're old enough to make your own. By the way, Mum wants a ham and tomato sandwich.
no no no helll no!

well that depends on how filling your meal was. if it was really filling then it should be ok if not then get up and make that sandwich mama
get a job?

If I asked my mom to make me a sandwich at that age she would have laughed. especially after you've fed them. give them some fruit or a cup of tea. and then tomorrow, teach them how to prepare sandwiches all by themselves.
sure why not ..unless they are going to bed soon then NO
First of all they are old enough to make their own sandwich. Second if your concerned about weight ask them to eat some fruit or something less fattening.
Let them eat, unless they are fat, they may be going through a growth spurt.
If they are hungry, they should be able to make their own sandwiches. Tell them what choices of ingredients they have.
If they chose not to eat dinner..that would be another issue.
Tell them to run around the block. When they come back, tell them they went the wrong way and to run around the block again the other way. When they come back let them each have half a peanut butter sandwich, with water. Then tell them to take a bath and go to bed.
Are they going through a growth spurt? My 2 boys aged 13 and 14 always eat more during a growth spurt.
Tell them to make it themselves though.
Sounds like a bargaining tool to me, those rooms neat and tidy, trash taken out? animals fed? Home work done? Shall I go on?
One Gold Star for Mom!
If they do make it themselves, kitchens got to be spotless BEFORE they eat.
they are growing kids if they are hungry give it to them!
what is wrong with having a good appitite its only a sandwich they are young growing children
say "i've a better idea - when you are making one for yourselves make me one as well and oooooh i'd love a cup of tea since you're in the kitchen anyway." that should work.
If my 10 year old can make a sandwich then so can they.
If they don't have weight issues then by all means let them have a sandwich, kids are always hungry in my experience.
I want my kids to eat healthily, I include them in all kinds of food preperation, I don't want them to be adults who survive on junk, Why can't your kids make a sandwich? I know it's nice to do things for them but you also need to prepare them for adulthood, get them trained lol
GO TO BED!!! NOW
say to them well if u want a sandwich go and make it and eat it ur old enough!
tell them to get up off there arses and make there bloody own
Tell them to make it themselves. They're old enough to make it themselves if they're still hungry.
As an alternative, offer them a healthy snack like nuts or fruit.

I disagree with some of the previous answers.yes, they are growing kids, but after eating a full meal, a sandwich is really too much. It's that permissiveness and "oh, they're just growing" attitude that contributes to childhood (and adolescent) obesity. (I'm not saying it is the only contributor, just one of many)

Also, it may also be important to address why they asked for a sandwich in the first place. Are they still hungry? Honestly, truly hungry? Was their dinner not filling enough? Or is it because they're bored and they just want to pass the time eating? Are they "emotional" eaters- eating a lot when stressed, happy, excited, etc?
make them peanut butter sandwich
"MAKE IT YOURSELVES" -- teenagers do not always get filled up with just their dinner.
They are at the age when they are almost always hungry. Nothing wrong with a sandwich if they are not on any special kind of diet. Let them make their own though.
As long as they are not wasting food and cleaning up after themselves, they should be allowed to make themselves a sandwich.
1. You are old enough to make your own sandwiches.
2. While you are making yourself a sandwich, make one for me.
say "if you want one make it yourselves" at this age they are not babies and perfectly capable of making themselves a sandwich.
