Romanesco?
Recently had one of these given to try and was told to cook it as cauliflower. I steamed it but had slight tummy ache after eating it, should the heart of it be pale green or do i wait for it to turn white like a cauli before cooking it?
Also any recipe ideas?
Answers:
Don't over cook. 10 minutes plunged in boiling water or max. 15 minutes steamed. It should still be slightly crunchy when eaten - I mean not soggy. Try it with white or cheese sauce.
I take it you're not a vegophobic. Stomach problems almost certainly linked to some thing else.
It should be pale green, it can also be eaten raw, so I suggest your tummy ache came from another source.
huh
