Is it ok to eat cheese that has gone green?
My mate says 'you only have to cut the green bit away and it will be fine'. I wonder!
Answers:
In Norway it is possible to buy a cheese called Gammeløst (literally 'old cheese'), which has gone beyond the green stage and is a rather darkish brown. The cheese has a slightly crunchy texture and a very tart acid smell. You either love it or hate it.
So I say with cheese, why stop at green (look at Stilton after all) when you could take this thing right through a rainbow of potential colour. Lets face it old cheese tastes good.
you can if you want, but yucky!!
Your mate is right.
Yep it is true. That is how they make cheese, its milk that has gone off!!
Your mate is right, it won't do you any harm at all.
No.. please !
CHEESE IS GOOD
NO..I wouldn't.it sounds spoiled.it's not like you eat a slice of bread that is partially covered by mold.that's gross.the only cheese edible is that French bleu cheese..
If it's a block of cheese, yeah, you could cut it off (if it's a small area)and it should be ok. If it's sliced cheese, I wouldn't chance it.
Why not try it and see.
If you want i wouldn't but my husband would
Yes, just cut off the mouldy bits.

No!!! Not unless you want to get really sick . Now put it down!
