Can sandwiches be frozen?
In order save time in the week, or would they go "funny" wwn you defrost them?
Answers:
Do you mean,do they start to tell jokes? I make up sandwiches for a couple of days at a time and then freeze them - by the time lunch-time comes round the sandwiches are de-frosted and perfectly o.k. to eat. And no, have'nt heard as much as a quip from any of them!
depends on the filling
most meat fillings okay
but any veg like lettuce will be soggy
bread stays fresher if well wrapped when frozen
yes they can
i watched a programme once where a woman made an half terms worth of sandwhichs for her kids in one day then froze them then just took them out in the morning so im guessing you can
Yes, but don't use lettuce or tomato.
Yes, but it depends on the filling - salad doesn't do well. I used to make my own for the week and freeze them. They would defrost by lunch time. It does save time in the mornings!
the bread would be soggy, allow time for making the sandwiches, freeze something that you can cook 5 or 10 min. before serving, that's where i would cut time
i always used to freeze mine when i was going to work i made them on sunday and got them out each morning by lunchtime they were thawed out ready to eat i had no problems with most fillings and if you do it this was you will not get problems with the bread although i used bread rolls
good luck
