Is duck a red meat?

Answers:
No, it is white meat.

Don't believe the myths about 2 legs or 4 legs.
A little bit truth in the color thing, but more to do with fats.
Crocodile meat is white meat.
Salmon is reddish (orange) but it is also white meat.
Pork looks white but is actually red meat.
So, fats is the correct factor to determine.
not too sure but it's nice?
no white meat
Nope the red meats are steak, pork and lamb chops. Ducks would count as poultry.
nope..i ate a duck before in a restaurant and it is draker than chicken a bit ^_^
A duck is classed as poultry. The meat is only red when it is raw.
I thought red meat were animals with 4 legs!
No,its white like chicken .
Duck and goose are poultry and considered "white" meat. Because they are birds of flight, however, the breast meat is darker than chicken and turkey breast. This is because more oxygen is needed by muscles doing work, and the oxygen is delivered to those muscles by the red cells in the blood. One of the proteins in meat, myoglobin, holds the oxygen in the muscle, and gives the meat a darker color.

Chickens and turkeys stand a lot but do little if any flying, so their breast meat is white and leg meat, dark. Game birds, however, spend time flying so their breast meat may be as dark as leg meat.
Before you cook it,yes

NO WAY, ITS WHITE MEAT.
I thought it was dark meat, definitely not red meat, although if you don't cook it properly it may come out red.

Maybe pink?
they bleed don't they?
ask a vegetarian
Yes it is. Isn't it?
It's classed as "game" but in terms of wines, choose a full-bodied red; yes, in that sense, it is treated as red meat.
I believe it is technically a poultry but it is very rich and dark meat. It definately isn't a white meat. It's very good with dill and a peach and cinamon sauce.
What has this to do with a veggie question?
i dont know, but i do know that this has nothing to do with vegetarian/vegan
Like a vegetarian is going to want to know??
