Does a cup of tea cool you down on a hot day?

Answers:
Well, sort of in terms of logic.

If you think about it, when you drink a cold drink it lowers you body temp momentarily, and then your body stops sweating, causing you to be hotter.

If you drink something hot then your body will try and cool itself down.
From your question, we could guess that it's a cup of cold tea, rather than hot.

But yes, a cup of cold tea would cool you down, while a cup of hot tea, above 98.6 F, would heat you up.
I don't really know since I don't drink Tea (yuk!) but I do believe it does.

Maybe..
NO. UNTIL N UNLESS A PERSON S ADDICTED 2 IT..
yes but i don't drink tea and if u do u will be kidnapped by a covert government agency who inject you with a new super virus that mimics the symptons of gangrene
Yes or that's what my Mom always said. It quenches your thirst unlike fizzy drinks that make you more thirsty after a while.
sure does.
I think it does because your body temp would raise slightly, therefore the air around you would feel cooler to you
yes strange but true
When I was little, my mum used to always say a cup of tea cooled you down when it was hot, and I always thought it was a seriously weird thing. I didn't drink tea at that age so I didn't know if it was true or not.

Now I do drink tea, but I don't find it cools me down, if I'm warm then a glass of water is far better. I don't know where that idea comes from, other than the fact that it is still fluid and so you will be better hydrated after drinking it. But not cooler.
It is known that a cup of hot tea does cool you down on a hot day, (fact).
all hot drinks do - weird isnt it !
yes. because you are warmer inside than out you'll feel cooler.
I hear a lot of people say that if you drink a hot drink then it is suppose to cool you down on a hot day but I don't think that makes in sense. And as a fact, this morning it is already quit warm in the small office I work in and the air wasn't on yet. I had a cup of coffee and it wasn't long when I was starting to feel the heat more.
NO-

"It gets HOTTER- and HOTTER and HOTTER-*

because you are drinking it on a "HOT DAY" and because

heat from the tea- causes "FRICTION" and with that it causes it to get HOTTER and HOTTER-

on a HOT Day*

so- - - "DON'T DRINK HOT TEA ON A HOT DAY"
any drink with lots of ice can cool you down.
Most definitely not, it does the exact opposite! Also to my surprise a cuppa doesn't solve every problem, us Brits, so deluded aren't we??!!
yes
Yes, especially my green mint tea when its iced
yes because when you drink something hot your body cools you down thats what i was always told anyway :)
try it and see, of course it cools you down, why do you think they all eat currys in HOT countrys, it aint brain surgery , is it?.
If you sit and relax drink it hot then relax it will - works for me
Yes i think it does, but its better to drink water.
Hot, white tea does indeed cool the body's core temperature and detoxifies too. Other white tea benefits include:

lowest caffeine level of all teas
anti-aging and anti-stress properties
high L-theanine amino acid content promotes longevity and concentration
No it doesn't, unless you are old and a wife then it does cool you down.
