Answers:
A steamer is better for cooking veg and fish..a pressure cooker is better for stews and stuff
steamer is best. Pressure is for cooking faster.
i'd go with the steamer cause a pressure cooker can blow up
steam
Steamer definitely. Quicker and easier, as well as tasting better.
a steamer is best . A pressure cooker cooks faster but loses some of the nutrients.
Pressure cooker. It seals the vitamins in the vegatable.
Steamer is what you need, and steamed veggies, rice etc is very good for you! I'm glad to hear someone is trying to go healthy.
you want a steamer you dont put fish in a pressure cooker,
Pretty much equal in terms of health.
The pressure cooker could be quicker due to the err.. pressure.. but these can be dangerous to use. I'd recommend the steamer.
for veggies ect go with the steamer you will love it.
For meat and others go with the Pressure cooker.
Use the steamer for fish and veggies. If you're not familiar with a pressure cooker, you'll end up with mushy veggies. Might even blow the lid off and have to scrape fish off the ceiling if you're not careful.
A steamer just steams the food, a pressure cooker cooks under pressure. For fish or vegetables you just need a steamer. A pressure cooker cooks food faster because it is under pressure. You can do an hours worth of cooking in ten minutes, but it would be overkill for fish and vegetables which cook quickly anyway.
They both steam the food, but a pressure cooker is faster. I'd definitely go with a steamer though, partly because there are sme safety issues with pressure cookers (exploding, and also burns) but also because they cook so fast things are often over-done, which is not the way you want to eat your fish or veggies!
I'm pretty sure that you want a steamer - my mum used to have apressure cooker and it seems like a lot more hassle than a steamer. As i understand it, the healthiest way to cook your fish and vegeables is to steam it as this keep all the nutrients and good stuff in the food.
With a steamer you just prepare the veg, pour in hot water to the bottom section od the steamer, stach the trays and switch it on for the appropriate amount of time (some makes give you a book with the steamer telling you what takes what amount of time).
Good luck!
depends what your taste is
i dont eat fish but i always use a cooker for all my vegetables, pulses, rice etc. its quick and easy and saves gas / electricity
i guess its healthy to use a cooker as it is indeed the steam under pressure that cooks the food
A pressure cooker is not the best thing to use when cooking fish, as the pressure may cause it to simply break apart, though it does do well for vegetables, a steamer would be better, however, because it does not cook with so much heat..boiling vegetables takes many of the nutrients out of them, while steaming does affect the nutrient quantity quite as much, i believe.the most healthy way to eat many vegetables is washed, and raw. but i would recommend a steamer, it would make much better quality dishes with fish and veggies
Steamer. it keeps more of the nutrients in the food.
Pressure cooker is pretty much the same as boiling in water, the water absorbs many of the nutrients and is then poured away. The pressure cooker cooks faster than open boiling because water boils at a higher temperature under pressure so when the water is hotter, the food cooks faster..
steamer is far cheaper to buy than a pressure cooker
Steamer for basic cooking. Pressure cooker if you are planning on doing any canning.
I steam fish and vegetables using a triple layered stock pot (layered with various colander like bowls). I add water to the bottom, and just steam the various layers. These type of pots are great for pasta as well.
A pressure cooker is much better in my opinion because it is much more versatile and in addition it cooks very fast. Also, don't worry about it blowing up. All modern cookers have plenty of safety devices on them and once you learn the art of pressure cooking you will wonder how you ever got along without it. They cost anywhere from $40. to $250. for the top of the line high capacity models. Just make sure you get stainless steel and not an aluminum cooker.
They are the same. If you want to cook faster, you can buy pressure cooker. I use pressure cooker myself to steam the vegetables but don't over cook.
steamer is best for cooking most things, healthier
Steamer is best for both,
