Which N64 emulator will work on my 2000 PC? (Details within) Please help!?

I was just wondering which Nintendo 64 emulator would work with my PC. It was Windows 98, but we upgraded it to Windows 2000 (NT Professional I think). I just downloaded a Mupen Nintendo 64 emulator, and although it would not work intitially, tweaking with the video settings got Banjo Kazooie to work frame by frame, very, VERY slowly.
I have an Intel Inside pentium II processor ,yes, I badly need a new pc! =) but I'm stuck with what I've got!! Can anyone please help me and/or reccomend an N64 emulator that should work? Thanks for your time =)

I cant give you much direct help, but what I can do is suggest that you download any peer 2 peer software (Limewire is very good which I have and use) and once your up and running do a search within it to see if anyone has an N64 emulator for you to download.Project 64 is the one I currently have which I got through Limewire, but I'm not too sure on what the system requirements are for you to be able to use it.I don't use it that often, however, it does work well and is a pleasure to play Mario Kart and Mario 64 with. Some of the controls are a little skewed though particularly when playing Earth worm Jim, but if you manage to get a copy I'll leave you with that to sort out for yourself.

YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO UPGRADE YOUR SYSTEM TO GET A GOOD N64 EMULATOR WORKING ON YOUR PC.

HERE'S THE MINIMUM SPECIFICATION YOU'LL NEED TO RUN PROJECT 64.

Intel Pentium 3 1.5Ghz or higher or AMD Athlon 1.5 GHz or higher
512MB RAM or more
nVidia GeForce FX or later or ATI Radeon 9500 or later
1GB or more free hard drive space
Creative Soundblaster Live! or higher
Adaptoid and original Nintendo N64 controller for each player
Microsoft Windows XP with latest updates.

You could try 1964, as its about as good as Project64, which is if you can run it.
