Lotto Question....
If I play the numbers : 1,2,3,4,5,6 have these got the same probability of being drawn as another more normal set of numbers. I would never think of getting a ticket with 1,2,3,4,5,6
Answers:
It's all the same probability..Same number of balls everytime = same percentage of winning.
i guess, but the next winning numbers will be 583254
Yes, seems hard to imagine though doesn't it?
Yes, the odds are exactly the same. It seems less likely because playing 1,2,3,4,5,6 makes it easier to get your head around how unlikely that would be.
Not only that, but would you ever play the numbers that won on the previous drawing? I'm sure most people wouldn't, but the odds of those same numbers coming up are exactly the same.
Of course, we do play anyway. It's for the dream of what we'd do with all of that money. If you don't buy a ticket, the dream isn't as good because there's absolutely no way you'll ever have millions. Even though the odds are extremely low, the possibility is still there, so buying a ticket makes the dream fun.
it has the same probability.

You'd have more chance of being hit by lightning while standing on top of Mauna Loa Crater while being married to Uma Thurman.
All combinations of numbers have exactly the same probability as any other combination of numbers.
The trouble with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 is that many people will have that combination so if you win the main prize your chances of having to share it are greater.
if you won with them you'd be sharing with hundreds of other that put them on all the time, go for something more original. I have won 10 times so far!
But what about the number 7-8-9-0, it's a question of luck I don't think there's anyway to figure the lottery out
Yes they are still as likely to win as any other combo but i remember the lotto people saying that the are the most chosen numbers of all! Apparently they sell thousands each week I suppose if they came up it would be quite upsetting to find you had only won a couple of thousand pounds each.
Hope this helps.
No, because you are introducing the added requirement of a perfect sequence into the probability calculation. I think it would be less likely than not that you would win like that.
if you watch rab c nesbit theres an episode where he plays 1,2,3,4,5,6 and the numbers that come out are 7.8.9.10.11.12.
Yes, 123456 has the exact same chances of winning as whatever numbers won last week or the week before. It's hard to imagine.
If you do buy a ticket, I recommend buying it the same day as the drawing because you have a much larger chance of dying during the week than actually winning.
Yes, that is correct. Just as much chance of getting another set of numbers.
