Can anyone please explain to me about xbox live, how it works and is there an extra charge?

Yes,I can tell youall about it my brother plays on it all of the time. You go to circuit city or best buy or somewhere like that and you buy a i month or 3 month or a years subscription to it .Then you buy a microphone.Once your home you get a game and go to where you can use xbox live and type in the code on the card it gives you with the subscription . then u plug in this grey wire to the xbox and the internet slot in your modem and its like instsant messeging buddy lists you play with people and tyou canb talk to them and send friends requests.Moxt xbox games are live enabledd the only extra charge is when you buy the subscription at the store. and say u buy a 3month package no matter how much u use it for those 3 months it lasts for three months if u still like it after that you subscribe again and add in another number from another package if this doesnt tell you verything the people that woork at electronics stores no all about it and are very helpful.
The only thing i know about xbox live is That you have to pay a monthy fee (also there should be a manual to xbox live that came with your xbox)
As far as I'm aware, it's effectively just another internet connection, you pay a subscription fee and you get to play games over it. I think you have to also pay for the individual game also, as I've noticed some games (namely Final Fantasy) come with a "30 day free subscription" so I assume after that you have to pay to play.
Its awsome. low price of 5 bucks a month for a gold membership. You download new stuff. SW Battlefront 2 expansion can only be done with x-box live
All of this it true and also you can setup an credit card acct to take out every month Like I do. Comes out to be about 8.65 tax included. Other than that its pretty awesome. Whats even better is if you have a 360 vs the regular xbox .
