Whats the diference between a platinum game on the playstation 2 and a normal game on the playstation 2?
I want to buy The Sims 2 on Playstation 2 but when i lokked on the Woolworths website there are two, there is the platinum edition and the normal edition. The platinum one costs £27.99 and the normal one costs £14.99. What is the difference does the platinum one offer more?

Hi,
In terms of gameplay the Platinum Version and the Normal Version are EXACTLY the same.
When a game is first released it is released at the normmal price.
If the game sells extremely well then sony after 6-12 months of the release, releases the Platinum version which as I said is EXACTLY the same in gameplay but comes in a different box and is much cheaper (as the game is now a bit old.)
One important point to note is that while a Normal game on the PS2 is usually always shipped with a manual in the box, a Platinum version usually does NOT come with a manual in the box.
Hope this has been helpful and if it has please rate it as a best answer.
after a game sells so many copies (a million maybe? im not sure though) they re-release it as platinum, the only difference is the price. take advantage of it and pay less
The platinum editions are usually priced £19.99
don't know
Not sure as anyone has really read what you've said. Firstly don't believe the comment about the manuals, all the platinum games I have bought came with the manuals.
You have said the the platinum one costs more than the normal one, if this is correct it raises a couple of questions. Firstly, why is the platinum one £27.99. The whole point of the platinum range is that the game has sold a certain number of copies and they therefore now offer it at the lower price of £19.99, I would not spend more than £20. Secondly, why is the original version so cheap? Make sure it's not second hand.
There is absolutely no difference between the 2 games except the packaging.
Finally, I wouldn't buy your games from woolworths, especially if they are charging £8 too much for a platinum game. Go to Game or Gamestation and you might be able to pick up a second hand version even cheaper. I personally have never had any problems with any of the many second hand games I have bought from these shops and if you do you can return them for a full refund.
will you print screen and put this question up on your wall?
what hands do you get in poker?
Games to play in a 18ft deep pool?
Can anyone complete this?
Team Building / Ice Breakers / Puzzles?
When bored out in town what do you do for fun?
can some one tell me the cheats for stick arena?
Has anyone got any cool cheats for sonic riders?
Does anyone know what a Texas Hold Em is?
