Why do germans wear socks with sandles ?

My boss and I are Americans and we both wear socks with sandles..SO WHAT? Do you think fashion style is so important? What are you doing to relieve hunger, help the homeless? Aren't LOTS of other things more important than fashion sence? Get a life!
Hee hee. Not only them; Japanese do too. Keeps the tootsies clean. Love those socks with a separate bit for the big toe when you wear flip-flops!

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say their feet are cold. :-) Noticed that when I visited Seattle as well.

Its just old germans who do that, all my german friends (students) dont wear sandals, they all wear converse (very styllish footwear)
The real question is: "Why do men wear sandles at all?" They look bloody awful!
I have many German relatives (my mother is half German) and I don't think I have ever seen any of them wearing socks with sandals when they have come to Canada to visit.:P
because if they didnt they'd have cold toes:)
