Whats the best software to create your own game with??
I am looking to create various games and am keen to know what the best software to accomplish this is

It depends on the type of game you want to make, I personally have gamemaker V6 on my PC, it features both drag and drop and scripting to make your games, and some of the more in depth games and demos show amazing power for such a simple program (it was designed as a tool for helping students on a video-game design course).
the software can be downloaded for free (although a few of the more powerful features require you to register it)
C++ or C# if you can get your head around it :D. Good luck!
Get a game known as "far cry" and it comes with a great free software known as "sandbox cryengine" or something like that. I'm still a n00b with it but its great fun.
Flash is a good one to start with you can do it without too much difficult code (only actionscript is needed and it is pretty close to javascript)
Visual C++ for pure programming.
OpenGL or DirectX for visual programming. OpenGL works with libraries and you can get started with any book such as "OpenGL for Dummies" or something along those lines.
if you don't want to learn simple programming, you could also us RPG maker. just google it. its pretty easy to use, makes rpgs.you can import your own sprites and everything.
Game maker 6.1 is good, you don't need to know an ounce of programming, it can be found here

Try looking at Blitz BASIC or Blitz 3D. These are programming languages specially designed for creating games.
