If you rolled 6 dice what would the totals have to be to match the sum of the sides facing down?
Answers:
Face up 21, Face down 21
42
36
42 OK, I was late on that one, so I'll explain. Opposite sides of dice always sum to 7. The totals face up and face down have to be the same, this can only occur if the average of the face-up faces and the face-down faces is 7. So, the total is 6 x 7 = 42.
Opposite sides on dice always add up to 7. So, 6*7=42
Top and bottom of the dice always add up to 7.
So going on that 6 X 7 = 42
3 4's and 3 3's each opposite equals seven, so any opposing pairs would suffice 3x6 and 3x1 3x5 and 3x2..
so in the first instance it'd be 21 )12+9) and you can do the math.
I believe it's 42, as the top side of the dice and the bottom side of the dice adds up to 7. When you have 6 dices, then the answer is 7*6=42.
