Fast set pool help?
anyone know what chemicals i need to set up a 12ft pool ? how long before it can be used and any other helpful tips
Answers:
Put some shock chemicals in it. They sell them in the pool supply aisles at department stores. I used to have a 12' pool, and you don't need much shock! Just a couple tablespoons does it. Get a kit for testing the chemicals in it, and test regularly. An uncovered pool loses chlorine faster than a covered one. You may need to add more shock daily.
Make sure the ground where you have the pool set up is level. Even a slight slope will make your pool lopsided.
You can use it as soon as the chemicals dissolve. My kids have used our pool right away, as I was filling it.
To help keep the pool clean, keep a tray of water next to the pool. I bought one called a "Dip Ten", but any small sturdy tray of water will work. Have all swimmers step in it before getting in the pool, and dirt and grass will wash off into that instead of into the pool.
Get a pool skimmer to keep debris out of the pool. I use our skimmer every day!
If you have a pump system, change out the filter every week. Sometimes all you need to do is hose it off and replace it. If it's still gray after hosing it, put in a new one. They don't cost much.
Keeping your pool covered when not in use will keep it cleaner.
