I have been a slave to my games consoles for over 15 years now. I am currently hooked on the gangster paradise game at the moment which one of my friends introduced me to. Never tried runescape but I have heard a lot of good things about it but I have never got round to checking it out.
I going through the same thing ,except its with a game call "Command and Conquer:zero hour". My wife is is fed up with me spending all my free time playing, but I couldn't help myself from playing. Now I try to limit my time. When i play now , no matter what the out come win or lose , I stop playing, then walk away.I then spend the rest of my time to things that need my attention. I admit you can get caught up very easily into the game but if you allow it to control you you may end up losing to more that just the game.
my kids play that very game, everyday, same time same world and they meet up with real friends there each day and play for an hour each day. limit your time of exposure and make it a point to skip on line if you have not meet you personal interaction goals with your friends/family. including others may make this easier for you,
You just have to notice that the graphics suck. so switch to endless online.
i know how u feel! I think u should quit cause after a while the game started messin with my computer. it turned off the computer's security system
Ask your friends to play it too, then you can all meet up online and adventure together
i think you have answered your own question! Dont get addicted. there is a real life waiting for you out their
I like that game, what bugs me though is how traveling takes a really long time, like going from varrock to lumbridge, they should have unlimitless run and have it go fast. Also it gets longer to level after you get level 50 in each thing. Bugs122490, add me sometime.
Just keep playing, the novelty will wear off sooner or later. Can't you remember being like that with presents when you were younger?
Online gaming CAN BE very addictive, but the fact that you've recognized the possibility is a good sign. To answer your question: I have to think that if you *could* limit your time spent on this game, you would allready have done so. This suggests that you are not able to make that choice, and as hard as it may seem, it might be a good idea to quit cold turkey, at least for a while. If you can stop playing for a few weeks, then perhaps you will have found the willpower to play in moderation.
You should try moderation and if that doesn't work, quit. It is easy to get wrapped up in on-line games and forget that you have a real life with real friends. There's a book called the artist's way where people cut out things that take up their time such as watching TV, Reading fiction books, etc. to see what is stopping them from spending time on their creative endeavors. You may want to try this yourself to figure out what you need to moderate to keep up with your real life.
play it all the time. look for quackduck10, that is me
I also use to have that "can't leave the pc playing runescape"!
Now this one here.. http://www.vmk.com not going to bed yet VMK!!
It's to fun I can't stop!
But it has a closing time..that helps a lot
i see where your coming from. i used to play that game SOOO much lol. unless you've invested alot of your time (like me, 86 mining and 94 cooking =p) its really up to you. If your a member or have been and invested in it, there's no point in quitting. just cut your playing time to like 1-2 hours a day, the time of a movie or something. honestly, its up to you. if you feel your out of control and its taking up your real life. Fantasy Role Play games were never meant fo the PC.
They are meant to be social occasions.
Get some friends together and play the non pc version of a decent gaming system. Theres plenty of them around.
My suggestions
ADnD
Call of C'thula
or any D20 game system.
