Waste of money.
How many people do you know that have won it? Have you heard of people who know people who won it? Probably not. You are better off saving a £1 a week and going mad with your 52 pound winnings at the end of the year.
1 in the gazillioooooooooons. Just play once in a while. If it's yours, it will come to you.
I believe it's 1:40,000,000 so no it's not really worth it but it's only a dollar.
It's a waste of money.but do it anyway, cuz someone has to win right? But only spend $1 at a time.your odds don't increase enough to spend more than a dollar.
You have a greater chance of dying in a plane crash than winning the lottery.
If you buy 5 lines of Lotto numbers every week for the rest of your life, there is more chance you will be struck by lightening than win the Lotto.
But, you've got to be in it to win it.
Ask anyone who has won if its a waste of money. LOL
Ofcourse the odds are rediculous and its a waste of money if you never win.. but if you were to win, would it have been a waste then? I think not.
1 in 13,983,816 chance
i.e. No Chance!
Below are the odds for the UK lottery!
well depends how u look at it..if u can afford a buck a day y not.if u cant dont spend that dollar..its called gambling u'll never know what will happened.could end up good.win some or alot of $$$.. or bad.u lose ur dollar
I won only small amounts, and now I have been putting the amount I used to spend on lottery in a savingsaccount, it's an automatic deposit every month, so I hardly notice it. I said to the bank I want only one bankslip a year. I got one the other month and there is 1200Euro in my account now! YIHAA! Never won that amount in my life!
Well, you can't win if you don't play. A dollar per week isn't really that much, can you honestly say that you could really put that 1 dollar towards a better use? What else can you get for $52 per year.not a whole lot, so you may as well buy a lotto ticket every now and then. And who knows, you may win, but only if you buy a ticket. I wouldn't hold your breath until you win, but you may as well give it a shot cause you really don't hve much to lose.
It is a waste if you spend a lot on it, I myself only buy a couple of lines a week which i don't miss , and if the big one comes in i shall amend my answer.
The probability of winning the lottery that you enter depends upon the number of separate numbers drawn, and the total population of numbers they are chosen from. The smaller the total population, the fewer possible outcomes.
For example, the Canadian 6/49 Lottery has 6 numbers drawn from a total of 49 balls with the numbers 1 through 49 on them. The probability here is 1 in 13,983,816.
Before the first ball with a number on it is drawn, or randomly selected, there are 49 balls in the hopper. The first ball is drawn and put aside. After this first ball is drawn, there is 48 balls in the hopper. After the first two balls are drawn, there is 47 balls, or numbers, remaining. This continues until there are 44 balls remaining in the hopper when the sixth winning number is drawn.
The Canadian 6/49 draws a bonus ball, which is drawn from the remaining balls after the sixth number is drawn. This last, or Bonus, number is used to select a second tier winner, and has amounted to more than $693,000.00.
The Irish Lotto 6/42 has 6 numbers drawn from a total of 42 balls. This brings the odds down to 1 in 5,245,786. The US PowerBall draws 5 numbers from a total of 45 balls. Then, 1 number is drawn from a separate set of balls numbered from 1 to 42. This little detail makes the odds here 1 in 80,089,128.
The odds are always very, very long. Sometime, they can be downright astronomical, but eventually someone wins.
And therein lies the rub. Someone hits it.
Somebody wins, and that group only includes people who have bought a ticket. Therefore, most people discount the odds of winning the jackpot in favor of a transient dream of wealth and independence.
So, buy a few tickets when the jackpot gets large enough to get your attention. The odds aren't very good, but it does indeed happen to someone.
You may as well put yourself in the 'Qualified Group' - those that actually have bought a ticket.
Good Luck!
the chances of winning the lottery are about 14 million to 1, you have more chance of being struck by lightning than winning, Given that it is such long odds the average return for a winner on a £1 ticket is considerably less than £14 million. So here is the thing, if you are going to run that sort of odds do it on something that will pay out at the same odds. i.e. try the Irish lottery through a book maker which will pay out £10 if you can pick one of the 6 numbers picked out.. will pay you £100 for picking 3 of the 6 .. unfortuneatly they don't take bets on all 6 numbers as they don't want to pay out on £14 million, but you get a better pay out with them
At first, winning the lotto can be exciting and you think the odds are against you.
However, after a few wins, it becomes boring. It can even be a burdon.
The first time I won I was happy to get $83.4 million. Everything was great. Then I won another $4 million. Huh?
Almost immediately afterward, I won $128.5 million in a Power Ball game.
Pretty soon, I had relatives I'd never heard of knocking at my door. I even had an Australian Aborigini couple claim they were my cousins. Hey! I am Chinese-Thai.
Men stalk you. Beautiful young girls in sexy black Gucci dresses and high heels chase after your rich husband. There is no rest.
The novelty wears off and you stop cashing the checks. I just throw them in a kitchen drawer now.
I began to give all the money away to charities, and that made me happy. Just when I started to find some peace, I won the Texas Lottery for another $112 million. Aughhhhh!
I hate it!
Why does my life suck like this? Why am I always the one winning the millions? Was I Adolf Hitler in my past life? Am I cursed?
In answer to your question, I think it is relatively easy to win. Almost every ticket I buy is a big winner. I rarely have one that loses. Just yesterday I won $22.8 million. Dammit!
.
The probability of winning any lottery is the number of prizes divided by the number of customers who have bought tickets.
The chances are very small indeed but so is your investment in the ticket. Well why not spend a small amount once in a while and hope you click the jackpot and become a millionaire. Its better to hope to become a millionaire than not to be one at all. Loll !
not very good.you would be better off putting your money into a bank .at the end of a year you would have at least £52 plus interest.
Save the money in a bank account. By the time your old, it'll be like you won.
it's not if your lucky and i mean really lucky
I think its 1 to 4.5 million its a waiste of money, know any of your friends whos won it?
if it makes you happy-play a little every week-same numbers-try pick 4- odds seem to be a little better-we piss $ away on so much sh-t what's a few bucks-and the dream--my guy always Win's a little something.i like the bigger stakes-but that's another story- good luck!
My economics professor said that the lottery is a tax for the poor.
the jackpot
just under 14 million to 1 - pretty long odds, more chance of being knocked down by a bus, but doesnt hurt as much.
personally - i would save your £2 a week (midweek draw too remeber) and at the end of the year by some premium bonds. Even if you dont win on them you will get your money back eventually.
I read the fine print one time and technically, the chances of winning any prize at all (including the small $1 ones) is 1/37. I don't think it's a waste of money as long as you don't buy too many. I usually buy 1, because that way I have a chance of winning without spending a lot of money.
Someone said it´s tax for the poor. I say it´s stupid tax.
in lottery probability of winning is 1 out of 100. but in case of betting on cricket matches the probability is 50 out of 100. i am an astrologer and have developed a method for calculating winning team in cricket. if you wish you can mail me at choco1859@yahoo.com. i promise soon you will be a millionaire.i dont bet coz its illegal in my country. but you should go for it if u wanna make good money.
Chances not good. But if you want to play, here's a free system I like:
