Circular knitting neddles?

Circular needles - how do you use them?
As with straight needles, you can knit back and forth simply by turning the work at the end of a row as usual. To knit in the round, cast on as usual. Do not turn the work but knit into the first stitch cast on, which joins the work to make a tube. The first round is completed. All knit stitches will be on the outside and all purl stitches inside.
Before joining the work, check carefully to see that the cast on ridge lays on the inside of the needle and never twists or rolls around. A stitch marker should be placed at the beginning of the round.
Circulars are often used for finishing necklines where picking up stitches in a circle would be awkward to do with straight needles. Knitting the body of a sweater in the round eliminates side seams. The work is usually divided for front and back, working back and forth to form armholes and shape the neck.
Yes they have point each end of a length of nylon cord. Easy to use and makes seamless woolen garment.
I prefer circular needles even when knitting flat garments, you just reverse when you get to the end of a row same as with straight needles, they also fit well in my knitting bag and easier to work with in crowds like on an airplane or bus or when you have to cast on a lot of stitches that may not fit on one straight needle.
i remember these..they were used to make socks with.
Circular knitting needles are convenient to use because they fit in small bags or a purse. If you knit while you're commuting or travelling, you don't have to worry about elbowing anyone near you. You also don't have to worry about being able to fit all the stitches on the needle for a large project. I believe they're a little easier for knitting in the round than doing the whole project on double pointed needles too. You also have a much better chance of taking your knitting with you on a plane or into a secure building without having the needles confiscated.
What about them? They are in EVERY wool and sewing shop.
