When do poppies blossom in England?

Answers:
I have seen red poppies growing in the wild along the A66 and A69 from mid may, well into July

I have yellow poppies in my garden (Scotland), and they bloomed early april to end of July
Is it May?
May/June
They blossom here, as well. My mom use to grow them in her garden. When I was little, I use to go and lay in the flower garden and pretend I was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.

Wow, I can't believe I just admitted that.

Okay, I feel so stupid. I misread your question. I thought you said "Why" do they blossom in England.

I just made a totally butt of myself.
My goodness! I hope you are not planning on using the poppies for anything other than their natural beauty!

The flowers bloom in early summer, and are followed by seed pods of an aqua - teal color.
Usually in June, unfortunately they only last a day or so. Save the seeds, they are easy to grow.
If you mean the red field poppies, they bloom in south east kent and norfolk, but not necessarily every year as they need the soil turned regularly that is why it is harder to get them to grow in your garden than the farmers field
