How to grow beans at home?
Answers:
Start them off by arranging on a paper towel on a small plate.Cover and water to where the towel is wet, put them in a dark place for about a week(checking them and watering them). In about a week they should show signs of puffing and maybe sprouting roots.
At that time your soil will be prepared for planting. Dig a shallow truogh for the seeds, spread the seeds and cover lightly.
Water as usual and hope for the best.
Ive done this for a few years now and have had great succsess.

happy bean growing! =)
Prepare your soil so it is free draining and also free of weeds and gets reasonable light. Using a rake, make furrows in the length you want them, add some blood and bone to the soil mixing it so its combined with the soil.
Get your seed, read instructions as to the distance apart depending on variety. Water regular but not so they are sodden.
When they grow about 6inches or so, get some wire and criss cross it above them so they have something to climb on and don't bunch together.
This is for normal Green and Butter Beans, Climbing beans you have to grow against a Wire support.
there are so many sorts of beans that are quite easy to grow. French beans and runner beans are very straightforward. Plant the seeds straight into the soil in the late spring. Make a sort of wigwam of twigs or canes about 5 ft tall over them and as they grow train them up. You can mix some sweet peas in with them for flowers and to attract bees. Keep them well watered and when they get to the top of the twigs, pinch the tops out. You have to keep picking them before the pods get too big and set seed. If you let them go to seed, they will stop producing beans. When they have finished, cut the plants back but leave the roots in the soil as they put nitrogen back into it. enjoy
By growing beans at home were you thinking of training them round the room as a decorative plant - runners were originally grown for their flowers not the pods - or in a pot, grow-bag, allotment, flower bed .?
Everyone else has given you the gen - read the seed packet too, as different beans grow best at different times. In these days of global warming you can get two crops a year of dwarf french beans.
And you can grow runners in a tub on your patio with a 'teepee' type support. Very pretty.
