I swam of the buggers descend on my garden at 4 in the morning which wakes up the entire street. How can I get rid of them?!

Teach the dog to chase'em away.

Shot gun? No, I didn't just say that. Honestly. I don't know, there must be something in your garden that is attracting them, do you have a pond? They like ponds. Maybe a scarecrow or somethign will frighten them off?
get a scarecrow or scareseagull i'd say
Buy a decoy owl with a rotating head. About $20 if you search.
Stay in the garden all day and night running around like a nutcase and screaming violently. For added impact, slap your own head a lot.
go and get a loaf of bread and put it out first in your garden then in the neighbors and proggressively away fro your house maybe it will change their patterns
