Has anyone ever swapped houses on housing exchange in the uk?

well it was many years ago but I swapped a new two bedroom house on an estate for an older three bedroom house in a cul de sac, I needed the extra bedroom as my family was growing, so it suited us just fine and we didn't hav any regrets, the people we swapped with were helpful and friendly, but in would have been good to see the house empty they left behind a lot of dirt and mess etc.
people do it's the council tenants mentality. best is just clean it up
