Ceiling artex?
what is the best way to paint over i.
whats best to use when your painting over combed points which are uneven (some high and low points)?
Brush is not gd..would a roller be better .or is there something else that'd work better?
Answers:
i use a sheepskin look roller - holds lots of paint and gets into all the dips. foam roller not too good and brush is soooooo time consuming i can't be bothered.
Brush is best. Rollers miss low bits.
Try pads,buy at DIY
total but stick to brush
we used one of those pads - you know - its a bit like one of them floor squeegies...
you press them against the ceiling and rub it around. it should cover well.
There is a roller specifically designed for this job. It is made of foam and is split in 1/4' sections all the way across.
We tried both the lambswool and the split roller when painting our ceiling, the split did the job much better then the lambswool.
It held more paint and the splits actually form around the points of the art ex.
Good luck with this it is a big job!
A roller would be better. Thin the first coat of emulsion SLIGHTLY for better coverage. To make painting your ceiling easier, pour the paint into your tray and stand this on the floor (on polythene to protect flooring from spills). Then push your roller onto a long pole, making sure it is secure. Hey presto - no neck strain, and you can see easily where you've already painted. Quicker too! By the way, if you line your tray with cling film and secure with sellotape on outside of tray you will have no messy tray to clean afterwards.
A sheepskin roller works very well
I always use a brush & its hard work.Have never tried a roller.
