Private pool in cyprus , is there legislation to say how deep or shallow it can be?

we have had a pool built in cyprus its 1.6m deep end, but only 0.6m shallow end , which is not deep enough to swim in, they tell me its built to a european directive , but cannot produce this to me

I have never heard of an EU directive on how deep a pool should be, more likely they couldnt follow the plans when building it so using that as a get out clause! Go to your town hall and ask them to show you the directive! Speak to your lawyer too
Cyprus are not in the EU so it does not have to comply, they simply wanted to do a cheaper job, less material to remove, reduced concrete and reinforcing on lower depth areas.
Cyprus is a member of the EU. The pool information can be given by an architect, municipality or "Tmima Poleodomias" which is responsible for this. Check their website below
