How do you make your own fertilizer?

Where would i get a container to keep it?

Answers:
A good liquid fertiliser can be made by picking a good bunch of stinging nettles, place them in a sack and tie the top, immerse in a water butt for a couple of weeks then remove. Hey presto you have a good liquid fertiliser!
too easy
Eat lots of bran!
horse manure. my gpaw usues it in his garden. it works i promise.
poo in a bucket!
by rotting stuff down- improvise for a container or build one with old wood and chicken wire or sommat.to buy a plastic container made specifically for the purpose is enviromentally hypocritical and lazy.:)
If you live in the U.K. watch Its not easy being green on Mondays BBC2 they are repeats so I know sometime in the next few weeks is the Compost episode.
Everything from my house hold scraps & everything from the gardens in the fall, all the leaves & grass clipping go into my composter. I made it out of old scrap wood, it's just 4 sides of slats, about 5' high & 4' square. 3 times a year I open it up & run over it with a tiller, then in the spring I mix a load my manuer into it with a bag of dolimite lime & spread it on the gardens.
Do you mean compost? That is rotting vegetation/. Fertilizer, buy it from the garden centre.
Depends on what you are growing and where you live and also what size of plot you have.
Sheep droppings are free if you want to go and pick them up.
Cow dung will give you plenty of long term fibre if it's well rotted.
There is a huge difference in the types of fertilisers, natural and synthetic.
Not all plants want high nitrogen but need potassium etc.
Be more specific and ask again.
get the leaves from your yard place them on your garden and mulch them with your lawn mower.
pile up your grass clippings, makes good compost. I made a small wooden box to let it decompost in.
.
four old wooden pallets make a good composter put in all your garden waste in it grass shrub prunings needs to be brown and green cuttings to get good compost and it has to be turned over a few times
i,m not exactly sure f what you mean by 'make fertilizer but if you live near a horse stable that,s you answer. let it age awhile and their is no better soil conditioner or fertilizer available anywhere. waste from goats is also very good fertilizer too
Poo in a bucket then wee on it.. night nitrate content.
But id also suggest making you own compost with the above which will give you a high NKP.
look at websites such as www.bionetix.co.uk or http://www.compost.org.uk which have good advice.
Liquid fertiliser can be made by putting green manure (plants grown to be ploughed or dug into the soil to improve its quality, lupins, comfy etc) or nettles, rhubarb leaves and horse manure into a porous sack to make a large "Tea bag".Place it into a suitable container cover with water and leave for a few weeks when the water is dark and smelly you will have your fertiliser pour off fluid and start again using the same bag,you can normally use them 2-3 times before it's to week.BEWARE this is a concentrated mixture and should be watered down by 4-1 otherwise it will burn your plants.
