What is the cheapest and most common fitted carpet people use for homes?

I know cord is cheap but is it good enough? what is the next best compared to cord carpet?

Answers:
Cord is really hard you wouldn't want that, but it is very hard wearing I can remember my mum and dad having it down in hall for about 15 years! I think the next cheapest will probably a 100% synthetic carpet which is OK but generally not very thick, then you have 80/20 30oz which is 80% made made fibre and 20% wool the oz bit means thickness bascially this is probably the one to go for much thicker and nicer, you can also get 40oz and 50oz which will be more expensive. Always go for a hessian backed carpet never one with a rubber type backing. If you do go for the thinner carpet get a thicker underlay to make for it, underlay should replaced every 7 years or so. Have you thought of laminate?
I worked at a flooring company and nearly everyone went for a 80/20 30oz in light beige one colour throughout. I am in uk if that makes a difference
berber, but it frays and stains easily
try vinyl tiles type carpet
