How do you take gloss paint off of PVC windows?

Answers:
Carefully! Seriously though - you must be careful not to use stuff such as paint stripper or that specifically says harmful to plastics. UPVC windows are very durable. The best way is gently with a scraper - it does not have to scratch it. If the gloss paint is hard then this method will work quickly and easily. If it is soft still then white spirit or turps will do. Don't use nail varnish remover or any solutions that smell of acetone - it is likely they will leave the surface sticky. Best advice - go in to a DIY store such as B&Q or Homebase and ask their paint expert.
terps,
it should just peel off white PVCu frames, but if it was a coloured grained frame then your snookered and will need new frames, in which case i'm your man so if you need a quote then drop me a line!
Try the product Oops! Painter's Wipes. They work wonders.
turps or white spirit
hard luck kid fraid its wd40, a stanley blade/scraper and lots of elbow grease.
I know this is gonna sound a bit mad try nail polish remover.
I tryed it on paint on my radiator and it worked but that was emulsion paint, dont know wheather it would work on gloss.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
Use PVCU solvent cleaner available from any glazier suppliers/DIY stores.PS wear gloves as it will harm your hands.
I'm supprised it hasnt fallen off already. If the paint is dry, terps wont work. for small amounts, use your finger nail. fro lots, a soft scraper - even wood -will work.
Either turps white spirit or a wallpaper scrapper..be a bit more careful with the wallpaper scrapper.
off of? you must have a bad cough
Gas will take it off
