Tomatoes ?
Is it to late to put tomatoes in greenhouse or outside, or is there a late variety?
Answers:
There are 60 day varieties you could still plant in containers and get a crop from. Some garden centers sell mature plants in pots too but they are expensive. If you can find short season bushes like "early girl" and keep them in the sun by moving the containers around as the summer progresses to maximize their exposure to the sun and keep the plants fed & watered you could still pull it off, good luck.
I don't know but I LOOOVVEE tomatoes yum yum!!
its possible.
I have pots of tumbling tomatoes on my patio - I don't have a greenhouse. They are just coming into flower now. I would suggest that it may be a little late to start growing them from seed but if you could buy some plants you could put them in a greenhouse and they would do wonderfully. Good luck and happy eating!
When i do tomatoes in the greenhouse i tend to put them in long before now. Mine are green now so hopefully it won't be long before they turn red and i can pick them.
Depends where you are but I wouldn't have thought it was too late. I'm in southern UK and my tomato plants are outside - they've just finished flowering and are forming tiny fruits now. Long may the sun shine!
Depends where you are - Tomatoes just don't like frost - so if you're frost free - Go for it. I'm bottling at the moment, have heaps of them! Good Luck!
depends on where you are. I'm in GA and its not too late here cause our weather stays warm into October and sometimes November. m
About the only thing you could get now is maybe some potted varieties that are about ready to start producing now. Otherwise you are probably too late.
