Had a small monkey puzzle tree for over 5yrs never grew its growing now, need to move it! when and how ?
Answers:
Autumn is generally the most suitable time
for moving your favoured puzzle.
Whilst his roots are active
early October or March this being
If you move him late in autumn
and the following winter is very cold, dry,
then he will be in danger of water stress.
If you can transplant during the milder,
moister time of year, about March
then his roots are capable
of starting to grow again straight away
while his tops are not in active growth.
How? break your back he is worth it,
As bigger ball as you can imagine,
then make it bigger, he will thank you
for the rest of your life and the next.
depending on the size of it now it is poss able to transplant it.depending on size you normally dig 1 to 2 meters circumference.be careful of the spiky triangled leaves they are sharp and can poke an eye out so wear goggles and gloves
Wait untill it goes dormant, make sure you prepare the new position.Goodluck
sell it
they are worth a fortune
and it may die when moved
let the buyer move it for you as well
