Consumer unit / fuse box?

does anyone no if your allowed to move a consumer unit / fuse box yourself or do you have to get electicity board to do it, is it expensive

Answers:
I have recently moved my consumer unit from back of low cupboard to above worktop in utility room & had it done by a local qualified electrician, that we had used previously,& it was not expensive & complies with all regs..
You can`t, get in touch with the Electricity Board
The electricity board would shutoff the power, then an electrician moves the board and all the wiring , then the electricity board would come back, test it and reconnect.
Seriously its not easy and would cost a lot.
it depends on how far you want to move it!it could be expensive
all the wiring from the dwelling goes back to the fuse box,so they would have to be extended or rerouted,if your talking about moving the incoming supply, you would have to contact your electricity supplier ,then we are talking money

good luck
