Where Can I Find A Thermostat Control Box?

You know the little box with the dial which you use to control the gas central heating temperature? Ours is broken, the dial is stuck at 30, and it's really old and dirty so we want a new one. We have been to all the usual DIY shops, and even a specialist trade centre, but to no avail!

Will we have to go direct to the original manufacturer?

Answers:
It's called a 'Room Thermostat', and I cant believe that you can't find one easily, any plumbers merchant should have a range of them. Also B& Q, Wickes, Screwfix, even on Ebay.
Home Depot.

Edit - oh wait.just realized you're probably in the UK.no home depot.try calling a heating repair service.
you can find anything at WALMART
probably the reason you have found a replacement is because most thermostats are electronic now. Lowes Homedepto your local hardware store should all have them. thre should be no problem upgrading.
Plumbers Merchant's.
Wickes sell them,
Any of the above answers might suit you, or you can call your local gas provider and buy their heating insurance plan. Then they will fix the thermostat or replace it. They will also inspect and clean the furnace so you do not waste energy and money. Good luck!
