Repairing UPVC?

Several of our 4 year old UPVC windows and doors have been badly mangled by a builder's cretinous lad's unskilled use of a grinder when removing mortar for repointing of the house. Fuming as I am and having requested replacement of the damaged parts, I am not looking forward to the further mess. Builder has sent round Window Doctor to 'have a look' after agreeing replacement of the parts, which has annoyed me even more! BUT does anyone have any experience of hot wax fill repairs of UPVC? Is it as dodgy and a botch up as I suspect it will be? Or is it an easy (if cheaper) solution to the problem?

Tell him you want the windows replaced,it was through his work forces negligence, surely you dont use a grinder to get loose mortar out.
if done buy someone who knows what there doing then owt to be ok good luck
dont be fobbed off by this so called builder, it will never look as good as it did, tell him you will report him to trading standards unless you can come to a satisfactory agreement,
Andy and Charles are right. Go for the jugular, make em pay or take em to court. These actions were totally uncalled for. Then the builder actually has the nerve to come out and have someone put a "Bandaid" on the problem? That aint even ethical. If this contractor has all the appropriate credentials, he should be stepping up to the plate and replace the whole unit. Don`t let them "patch it up". The patch may end up looking just all right, but you`ll always know it`s there.
i use a sharp razor blade type implement to remove scratches from pvcu windows and doors. i also use a solvent to clean bad marks on the surface of the plastic, then i use a cream cleaner to finish the job off.
the windows and doors will look like new if he uses this method.
