Jasmin. Is this a native plant of Crete /Greece?

Answers:
There is even a couple of species here in tropical Australia, Jasminum aemulum and Jasminum didymum. So I assume they will be found in many tropical countries?
It has been cultivated in Greece and the surrounding countries for about 2500 years, but it probably originally comes from Sub-Continental Asia (India/Pakistan/Bangladesh) or South East Asian island chains (Indonesia, Philipenes etc)
Jasmine comes from several diverse places , depending on the type.
Some comes from chile , another from the Carnary Islands, Star Jasmine , probably the most popular is believed to have come from South east Asia . I believe another is the state flower of South Carolina.
I love jasmine!
and i know that here in greece we have plenty of them!
they smell so nice..
It might as well be. We don't have written records for more than 2 millenia so it's anyone's guess :)
