Do you think 2 Reams of A4 will be enough to paper a room 3.5m x 4m x 2.4 high?
Or should I get 1 more to be on the safe side?
Answers:
That should be plenty but you'll need about 4 pounds of blue tack!
No, a ream is only 500 sheets
Get one more. With the left over sheets you can make paper airplanes - http://www.paperairplanes.co.uk/.
you could get one more to be safe or you could take your measurements to a DIY outlet and get some wall paper :)
1 A4 sheet is 210 x 297 mm
or
0.21 x 0.2297 m
=0.06237 sqm
x 500 (sheets per ream)
= 31.185 sqm
so far 1 ream of A4 equals 31.185 sq meters of coverage.
the area of your room is exactly 50 sq meters, based on 4 walls and a ceiling.
so two reams of A4 paper, being over 60 sq meters should be plenty of paper.
if your talking about doing ALL sides of your room ie a box then quick workings out will 2 x (4m x 3.5m) walls = 456 sheets (2 sides then 2 x (3.5m x 2.4m) = 216 sheets and then 2 x (2.4 x 4m) = 456 so total of 1128 sheets each measuring (29.7cm x 21cm) so yes you need 2 full packs then 128 extra sheets (try buying a 250 ream pack then you have a few extra incase of any mistakes! :O) (i assumed you were doing the floor as well if not doing the floor take off 228 so 900 sheets and 100 spare with buying 2 reams so yes you'll have some spare from 2 reams. good luck!
Absolutely Michael; but why are you papering a room with A4 paper? Surely you realise it has to be A5, or even Note-paper. Basildon-Bond do a lovely range, available from your local stationer; Their lilac vellum is particularly pleasing, but not people know that...
