Orchids - because these are not very common and these exude elegance. When cut, they last a long time and it gives a flower arrangement an exotic look. Orchids arranged with other tropical flowers will make for a very elegant gift indeed.
Sun-flowers. Such a beautiful flower. It is large, a pretty yellow and always turns towards the sun.
For fresh cut flowers, alstromerias -- they are beautiful and hardy and last a long time. Proteas are like sculptures. Tulips are elegant and stately, orchids earthy and sexy. Sweet peas are delicate and fragile. Gardenias don't live long but what a scent! And who can resist a rose?
Live flowers -- bird of paradise, daffodils, sunflowers, and all kinds of wildflowers. This spring there were Irises blooming all over a nearby mountain. Lilacs, honeysuckle, jasmine, and especially wisteria for the incredible sweet perfume. Wow.
Cherry trees, crabapples, magnolias, redbuds, plums, and crabapples put on an incredible display.
How could anyone choose just one?
