How do you board up a loft?

Answers:
You nail boards over the insulation
Go into a bit more detail as to what your trying to do and i'll give you an answer
Take up pieces of chip board and nail or screw them to the joists taking care not to put your foot through the ceiling.
Best thing to to is get sheets of ply, 18mm, cut them in half so you can get them through the loft hatch, then nail them to the truss joists. Bear in mind these truss joists were not meant to take excessive loads do you may need to add extra timber if you are going to put alot of loading on them.
Put loft/flooring boards down available from B&Q and nail or screw them to the joists.

Careful not to drop or put your foot through the ceiling and careful not to nail or screw through any cables.
Very carefully, first of all check to see if your ceiling/loft joists are strong enough to support any boarding, if not you will need to put stronger ( thicker both width and height ) once you have that sorted you could use chip board type panels of round 50cm x 100cm, so they are easy to place and get up there, and make sure you still have access to any electrical boxes an lastly be very care full you do not put your foot through the ceiling
When i did mine i screwed the loft boards into the beams around the loft hatch then worked my way out. quite easy,
Packs of roofing boards are available from B & Q , Homebase in UK Buy suitable chipboard screws, buy or borrow an electric screwdriver. Follow instructions on pack. Dont do as someone suggested and nail the boards. SCREW ONLY
Boards come as "Flooring packs for loft" etc
Be careful of electric cables.
